‘Tupperware’ exhibition

After successful stops in Raeren, Bouvignes and Hanover, the special exhibition ‘The “Tupperware” of Bruegel, Aertsen & Co’ will soon be on display at the Pottery Museum Thurnau.

The exhibition, which was first presented at the Pottery Museum Raeren in 2022/2023, vividly illuminates the role of Raeren stoneware tableware in the art and everyday culture of the 16th-17th centuries. Works by Pieter Bruegel, Pieter Aertsen and their contemporaries provide exciting insights into the use and symbolism of the vessels depicted – the ‘Tupperware’ of their time.

From 12 October until the end of the Christmas holidays, the Pottery Museum Thurnau invites visitors to discover this extraordinary exhibition.
