Exhibition Marc Kirschvink
Marc Kirschvink presents a variety of lines
The Café Bistro Kultur | Haus Zahlepohl not only offers culinary delights opposite Raeren Castle, but also a variety of exhibitions in the original tradition of the Pottery Museum. From November 19th to December 12th, 2021, a well-established artist with Raeren roots will be the guest: Marc Kirschvink, who has been running his studio in Cologne for many years, but still has close ties to his homeland.
In this exhibition he will show works from his latest project, which is entitled “ligne droite” - that is, straight line. “Line to line. Lots of straight lines. Plenty of straight lines! The lines are meticulously drawn from one to the opposite edge of the picture. Doing this requires patience and discipline. A meditative work. Areas, levels, spaces and landscapes emerge from the lines. A slight vibration. ” - This is how the versatile artist himself describes these works and this is exactly what the viewer can feel when he gets involved with the paintings. They stimulate meditation and deepening the gaze and each unfold its peculiar, shimmering vibrations in its own way.
The vernissage of this extraordinary exhibition will take place on Friday, November 19th at 7 p.m. Until December 12th it can be seen on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Fridays from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission is free.
